Khalilullah Sediq
Chief Executive OfficerMr Sediq has 30 years’ experience as a central banker and a commercial banker in Afghanistan and America. He joined Da Afghanistan Bank, the central bank of Afghanistan, in 1971 and held senior management positions in most departments, serving as Governor from 1990 to 1991. Mr Sediq was with Sun Trust Bank in the USA before returning to Afghanistan in 2006 to become chief executive of Afghanistan International Bank, turning a loss-making bank into the most profitable and most respected in Afghanistan. He holds a BA degree in macroeconomics from Kabul University.
Lalit Kumar Jha
Chief Financial OfficerMr Jha is a chartered accountant with more than 17 years’ experience and has been CFO at AIB since 2009. He was previously senior vice-president at Dresdner Bank in Mumbai and head of accounts and taxation at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Ufj in New Delhi. Mr Jha holds a BCom degree from Bihar University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Tamsil Rashid
Head of Commercial BankingMr Rashid has 30 years’ experience in commercial, development, and Islamic banking, having begun his career with Habib Bank Ltd and later joining the Bank of Khyber in Pakistan where he rose to senior vice-president and divisional head of credit management. Mr Rashid holds an MPA degree, majoring in economics, and is a diplomate of the Institute of Bankers in Pakistan.
Asadullah Fayzi
Chief Information OfficerMr Fayzi has been head of IT and communications at AIB since its inception in 2004, responsible for all operational software and supervising the Bank’s local area network, intranet and internet connections, and branch and ATM networks. He was previously IT manager with Afghanistan Reconstruction Co. Mr Fayzi holds an MSc in electronics and communications from Istanbul Technical University and is fluent in Dari, Pashto, English, and Turkish.
Amitabh Joglekar
Chief Operating OfficerBefore joining AIB, Mr Joglekar was practice head, banking and financial services with Syntel Inc, and has had a long career as a specialist consultant and subject matter expert for leading global banks and financial services companies. He was previously assistant vice-president at Yes Bank Ltd in India, managing 17 branches in the Pune region, having held senior management positions with various Indian banks. Mr Joglekar is a BSc graduate in computer science from the University of Delhi and holds professional certification in mutual funds, insurance, and deposit operations.
